PROBLEM / SHOP-FLOOR GAPS

Keep the MES. Connect the records that still live in spreadsheets.

Keep your MES and connect the shop-floor records still kept in spreadsheets: work order progress, lot genealogy, daily production reports, OEE and quality holds.

Even with an MES, part of the shop floor runs on spreadsheets

Work orders come from the MES, but shift handovers and daily reports sit in the supervisor's spreadsheet. Tracing which material lot went into which finished lot means working back through several files. OEE is calculated by hand at month end, and the location of held stock is something you ask the quality team about.

Giz does not replace your MES. It fills only the parts the MES does not cover or the floor does not use.

How the work flows

  1. Work orders: Create a work order and record start and completion, with good and scrap quantities.
  2. Lot genealogy: Link consumed material lots to produced lots, so a finished lot can be traced back to its materials.
  3. Daily report and OEE: Build the daily production report from work records and calculate OEE from availability, performance and quality.
  4. Quality hold: A held lot cannot move to the next step. Disposition and actions continue with an owner and due date.

Scope

The models and business rules for this area are built and tested, but they have not yet been demonstrated on a customer's shop-floor data. They are validated on your data during the build. The first-week demo checks whether your records fit the flow before any scope is agreed.

Not included: Collecting data directly from machines or PLCs, and writing results back to the MES. Production results come from MES exports or entry on the floor. The MES remains the system of record.

Check it on your own data in the first week

Send a work order list and one or two daily report spreadsheets. Within a week we run this flow with your items and lots. Your supervisor checks it against their own records, and the build scope follows from that.
